Working with Kristen Heard and Southern Silks Puppies was an enjoyable and exciting experience.
I felt Kristen's compassion through the phone, during my first conversation in early March 2023. That conversation was very emotional because my husband died on February 25, 2023. Kristen was very compassionate and patient with me and assured me that she would help me find the perfect companion puppy to bring joy back into my home.
I selected my precious Havanese puppy "Angel" from the litter and received weekly pictures, videos, and progress updates. I felt like I was a new puppy mom involved in every early stage of my puppy's life. I found myself looking at the videos over and over as the excitement of bringing her home heightened.
I wanted my new puppy to come home on my husband's birthday in early June; however, Kristy explained that she allows all her puppies to wean naturally from both their mom and their littermates. This was done to make certain they would make the smooth transition and adjustment to their new home. I found this to be evident of her love and concern for her puppies. This was very impressive.
My precious Havanese "Angel" was born on Easter Sunday (April 9, 2023) and I was able to bring her home on July 1, 2023. Kristen had her potty trained and she immediately went to the potty tray when we arrived home. The list of supplies, the soft blanket, the grooming tools along with her medical history with dates of upcoming vaccines was most helpful and much appreciated.
Angel is a sweet companion puppy with silky soft hair. She is very friendly, intelligent, and well socialized. People can't resist touching her beautiful hair and always comment on how very soft and silklike her coat is to the touch. I am a Mental Health Therapist, and this precious puppy is a wonderful addition to my office. She is very well behaved and a joy to love.

These dogs are super smart and they do come to you paper trained! Love the breed and just picked up our girl now 4 months. Beautiful white and tanish . Love her coloring and Jeanne is an amazing lady and so knowledgeable about this breed, vet vaccines and do's and don't for the breed. She has been in business for 30 years and has an amazing facility. Worth the drive and time to visit with her. We were so impressed and this is our second dog - Havanese from Jeanne. She is truly a five star breeder and loves her puppies. We love love the Havanese dogs as they are easy to train and so smart you will be amazed. Look at her history about the breed.

My husband and I spent over a year looking at breeds and breeders after deciding we were ready for a dog in our life.
Once I talked to Jeanne for the first time we knew our search was over.
She has the most amazing set up for her moms and puppies. She was kind and knowledgeable and just remarkable.

We did it again... this is third puppy from Southern Silks. Cindy and I decided to add another new member to our family...so naturally we contacted Jeanne at Southern Silks. Jeanne is a professional breeder of Maltese and Havanese. We decided on another male Havanese which will be named MOXY. Again, it was a absolute pleasurable experience as before. As before, Jeanne put our interest first. Within a week, Jeanne contacted us to announce a new litter. We trusted Jeanne to select the perfect puppy to add to our family. She selected a beautiful red and white Havanese puppy only a week old. Our trust in Jeanne allowed us to purchase the puppy "sight unseen" only a week old. Jeanne will complete most of the training and early veterinarian care before MOXY is ready to come home. The transactions are always easy and all papers provided. After the purchase, Jeanne is always available (which is very important) which reflects her true dedication. MOXY will be very happy in his new home with BIJOU and JACK. We are more than pleased. Southern Silks is highly recommended.

Our Maximus "Max", our Havanese, will be three in January 2019. He is truly a jewel in our family. He is the most intelligent four legged baby I have ever had. He's eager to learn, has great cognitive skills and enjoys every moment. It's obvious the ability to learn these skills are in heredity. He masters every game, puzzle or trick. He loves family hugs, watching football, traveling to five star hotels. He is a great travel companion. He loves announcing himself in the hotel for hugs and kisses from the staff. I would highly recommend Jeanne's puppies after visiting her place to pick up our little Sonshine. We were very impressed with her kennels and the quality of her adorable little puppies. The cleanliness is beyond belief and her feeding program is amazing. We now have a little darling who is a perfect fit for our family. Our 13 year old Maltese has given her approval on the new addition too. Jeanne is definitely our special angel.

When I met Ms Jeanne about 3 years ago I was totally ignorant about dog ownership and care. As I was approaching retirement from work I was entertaining the idea of getting a dog so I went to visit Southern Silks.
Ms Jeanne made me feel comfortable as soon as I enter her living room. We spoke for a while and I met her 2 lovely furry companions. It was a great visit but I was not quite ready to make the comitment yet. We kept in touch and every now and then she would send me pictures of havanes puppies and she would describe some of the personalities taking into consider I told her I was looking for on the first visit.

In June of 2014 she sent me a few pictures of a beautiful female havanese who immediately stole my heart. By July I took her (Bijou) home and my life is all better.

Southern Silk is exceptional not only because of the top quality puppies you get from there but also the outstanding service Ms Jeanne provide after you take your puppy home. She actually become a member of your family, checking on you and the dog often. She even came to my house to show me how to give Bijou a bath.
She is an encyclopedia of canine knowledge and is very generous with her time.

Eventhough I have moved to another State we have kept in touch as she really care about you and your new family member. Bijou will be 3 in May and I am grateful to Ms Jeanne for her loving/helping ways and her generosity and honesty. I know I can call or email her with any questions and i always get the best information.

Hi! We had a great experience with Southern Silks. We worked directly with Jeane, and had good communication with her throughout the process. She shipped Pork Chop on a flight to where we were in Atlanta and everything was a smooth process and she walked us through everything we needed to do regarding his immediate care. Pork Chop arrived in good health and spirits and, 3 years later, he's still the best dog we've ever had. We told Jeane what we were looking for in terms of personality and she seemed to match him to us perfectly. If we were to get another Maltese, we would use Southern Silks again. Where can I begin...except with Jeanne Roane, one of the most loving and caring people I know. Her love and dedication to excellence transfer to her puppies, along with her soft, sweet voice. Remy's introduction to the world was Jeanne saying to her, "Hey Girl" welcome to the world! Our vet, Dr. Reinhart, told us that Remy was the most balanced, perfect puppy he has ever seen...he said she must have had a wonderful Mother...another pup for which Jeanne is responsible!!

Well, when we saw Louie aka Golden Boy, on Jeanne's website, SouthernSilksPuppies.com, we fell in love once again...Louie is an amazing boy...fun loving, laid back and quite the gentleman. He stands back when Remy is with a toy or a chewie and just watches her lovingly. I could spend all day watching them...they are adorable, sweet, loving and so much fun. Everyone loves them. I could go on forever talking about Remy and Louie, two of the most precious Havanese pups...but, in reality, all of Jeanne's pups are perfect!
